Birkdale South Recognised as a PBL Demonstration School for 2026
Birkdale South State School is proud to have been recognised as a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) Demonstration School for 2026, acknowledging the school's outstanding work in creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
This recognition reflects the strong culture that exists across our school, where positive behaviour is explicitly taught through our CARE Bee-Leafs—Community of Kindness, Appreciation, Respect, Resilience and Effort—and reinforced through programs such as the CARE Hub, Bridgebuilders, student leadership opportunities and wellbeing initiatives.
As a PBL Demonstration School, Birkdale South will have the opportunity to share its successful practices with other schools across Queensland, showcasing how a strong focus on relationships, belonging and high expectations can improve outcomes for students.
Principal Amanda Turnbull said the recognition belongs to the entire school community.
"This achievement reflects the commitment of our students, staff and families to creating a school where every child feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed."
The recognition is a celebration of Birkdale South's continued commitment to ensuring every child can Belong, Grow and Achieve.
