That's the mantra for students and teachers at Birkdale South State School—and the results speak for themselves. The school’s focus on building a strong reading culture has earned them a spot on the 2025 ACARA’s 'schools making a difference' list.
In 2025, the NAPLAN reading and writing results for Years 3-5 have strengthened due to an explicit strong focus on reading. Our reading mantra, 'Every student reading out loud every day' helped embed a culture of reading in the school and has ensured students receive daily opportunities to apply decoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
