Enrolment information
Families wishing to enrol at Birkdale South State School are encouraged to contact our friendly administration team to discuss enrolment procedures, catchment information and required documentation.
Required enrolment documentation
Please ensure the following documents are provided with your enrolment application:
- Birth Certificate
- Visa documentation (if applicable)
- Any relevant medical or specialist reports.

Families are welcome to complete forms electronically or submit hard copies to the school office.

Pre-prep student led tours
Our Pre-Prep Tours provide families with an opportunity to:
- Explore our beautiful learning spaces
- Meet members of the leadership team
- Visit Prep classrooms
- Learn about our transition to school processes
- Discover our CARE values and learning approach
- Ask questions about school readiness and enrolment.
We strongly encourage families considering Prep enrolment to attend a tour during the year prior to starting school.

Families are encouraged to attend a tour during:
- Term 1 or Term 2 for Prep enrolment planning
- Prior to submitting enrolment applications
- During our Bright Sparks transition program period.

Bright Sparks Transition Program
Preparing children for school success
Bright Sparks is Birkdale South State School's transition to school program designed to support children and families as they prepare for the exciting move into Prep.
The program provides opportunities for children to:
- Become familiar with school routines and environments
- Develop confidence and independence
- Engage in early literacy, play and social learning experiences
- Build positive relationships with staff and peers
- Experience the joy of learning at Birkdale South.
Bright Sparks also supports families by providing information about:
- School readiness
- Early years learning
- Transition to Prep
- Student wellbeing and support services.
