Birkdale South State School Dance 2027
Our Dance program is full of energy, fun and opportunities for students to build confidence,
develop their skills and make new friends.
In 2027 we will have the following Dance Teams:
- Junior Dance Team – Grades 1 – 3
- Senior Dance Team – Grades 4 – 6
Students in the Junior & Senior Dance Teams will learn choreography and can have the
opportunity to perform at certain school assemblies or events throughout the year. Dance Team
days and times will be finalised early Term 1 but will take place either before school from 8.00 -
8.45am or 3.00 - 4.15pm
Performance Dance Team – Grades 4 – 6 Via Audition
Students in the Performance Dance Team will be required to attend an Audition in Term 1 2027,
and these students will have the opportunity to be involved in Performances outside of school
such as local community events and / or Eisteddfods. There will be extra rehearsals throughout
the year for Students in the Performance Dance Team.

Preps
Prep Dance commences in Semester 2.
Prep Parents and Carers will be emailed during Term 2 regarding Expressions of Interest.
Costs
Currently the Dance Program is no cost to attend however there may be costume or travel costs
throughout the year which Parents & Carers will be informed about as required.
