Building a community of kindness
At Birkdale South State School, our CARE Program sits at the heart of everything we do. It is designed to help every child develop the social, emotional and personal skills needed to thrive both at school and in life.
Our CARE Program is built around our five school Values of the Heart (CARE Values) that were developed through consultation with students and staff:
- Community of kindness
- Appreciation
- Respect
- Resilience
- Effort
These values guide how we learn, play, solve problems and interact with others every day. Through explicit teaching, modelling and celebration of positive behaviours, students learn what it means to be a valued member of our school community and how they can contribute positively to the lives of others.
